| 세계적인 태블릿 전문 기업 와콤(Wacom)의 한국법인 와콤디지털솔루션즈(대표 서석건, www.wacomdigital.co.kr)는 금일 PC와 맥킨토시를 사용하는 일반 가정 및 직장의 유저들 혹은 비즈니스 전문가를 타겟으로 한 새로운 일반 소비자용 펜 태블릿 제품 '뱀부(Bamboo)'를 새롭게 출시했다. 신제품 뱀부 펜 태블릿 제품은 '대나무'라는 원단어의 뜻에서 알 수 있듯이 일반인 및 비즈니스 전문가들이 다양하게 활용할 수 있도록 개발되었으며, 기존의 그래픽 작업 중심인 와콤의 기존 펜 태블릿 제품과는 달리 쓰기, 주석 달기, 검색 및 스케치 기능 등을 전자 펜을 사용해 손쉽게 활용할 수 있다. 특히 윈도우 비스타 및 오피스 2007 등에 추가된 강력한 펜 입력 기능을 최적으로 지원할 뿐만 아니라, 와콤의 특허기술인 무건전지 및 입력 감지 펜 기술을 기반으로 개발됨으로써 사용자들에게 최상의 성능 및 편이성을 제공해준다.   와콤디지털솔루션즈의 서석건 대표는 "뱀부의 출시로 와콤은 중요한 이정표를 세우게 됐다. 와콤은 모든 컴퓨터 사용자들에게 컴퓨터와 상호 작용하고 커뮤니케이션하는데 있어 완전히 새로운 방식을 제공하고자 뱀부를 개발해왔다" 라며 "일반 사용자들 역시 뱀부를 통해 자신만의 스타일을 자유롭게 디지털로 표현할 수 있는 기회를 누리게 될 것이다. 와콤은 향후에도 디지털 펜이 대중적인 제품으로 자리매김하고 새로운 디지털 라이프 스타일로 발전하는데 있어 다양한 지원을 펼쳐나갈 것이다" 라고 말했다. 일반 유저들을 위한 최상의 펜 입력 기능 제공 뱀부는 전자 펜으로 필기를 하고, e메일 및 문서를 작성하는데 있어 간편하고 자연스러운 방식을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 윈도우 비스타에서 추가된 검색이 가능한 디지털 잉킹 기능의 이점을 활용하게 되면 디지털 사진으로부터 사진 편지를 제작하는 것을 가능하게 해준다. 또한 윈도우 XP 버전을 위한 저스트라이트(JustWrite) 오피스 소프트웨어 패키지를 활용하게 되면, 마이크로 소프트 오피스, 저널, 노트북, 어도비, 아크로뱃 등과 같이 대중적인 애플리케이션 상에서 비스타와 유사하게 보다 뛰어난 효과를 표현하는 것이 가능해진다. '뱀부'는 윈도우 비스타의 우수한 다언어 지원 필기 기술을 활용할 수 있으며, 전화통화나 회의 시에 급하게 펜으로 작성한 노트를 펜의 버튼만 터치하면 타이핑 된 텍스트로 정확하게 전환할 수 있게 해준다. 또한 비스타의 '제스처' 기능을 통해 이전/이후 화면 가기, 텍스트 복사 등 애플리케이션 상의 명령어를 간단한 펜의 제스처만으로 실행할 수 있어(8개까지 지정가능) 작업 시간을 절약할 수 있다. 뱀부의 전자 펜은 아울러 디지털 지우개 기능을 제공해 어떠한 윈도우 플랫폼 상에서도 펜을 단순히 긁어대는 동작만으로 해당 텍스트를 자동으로 지울 수 있게 해준다. 뱀부는 태블릿 상에 장착되어 있는 익스프레스키(ExpressKeys)를 통해 PC 네비게이션 기능을 제공, 화면상의 애플리케이션의 전환, 웹사이트 혹은 프리젠테이션 상의 전후 이동 등을 어떤 키보드의 단축키와도 호환될 수 있게 했다. 또한 터치링(Touch Ring)은 문서의 빠른 스크롤 및 줌(zoom) 인/아웃 기능을 제공해 준다. 모니터에 1:1로 표현되는 펜의 정밀도는 네비게이션 기능의 효율성을 한층 향상시켜줄 것이다. 인체공학을 고려한 와이드형 디자인 뱀부는 와이드 형태의 A6 사이즈를 채택함으로써 최근 시장에서 가장 각광 받고 있는 와이드 스크린 PC및 노트북 트렌드를 반영했다. 또한 태블릿의 표면은 펜에 가해지는 압력 정도에 따라 가장 자연스러운 쓰기 경험을 가져다 주도록 설계되었다. 뱀부 펜과 태블릿의 인체공학적인 디자인은 반복 긴장 상해(RSI-repetitive strain injury)의 위험을 감소시켜 줄뿐만 아니라 펜의 정밀도에 따른 매우 빠르고 정확한 컴퓨터 애플리케이션의 탐색을 제공함으로써 생산성과 효율성을 향상시켜준다. 또한 뱀부는 세계 최고의 디자인상인 '레드 닷(red dot) 어워드'를 수상했다. 와콤은 이를 통해 최상의 디자인 품질 및 혁신으로 매년 국제적으로 공인된 디자인 상을 석권하고 있다. 왜 뱀부인가? 추운 산악 지대에서 열대 지역에 이르기까지 다양한 기후에서 성장이 가능한 대나무는 값은 저렴하면서도 다용도에 재생이 가능한 자원으로서 지난 수 천년 간 수많은 용도로 사용 되어왔다. 고대 로마에서 첫 번째 잉크 펜은 속이 빈 대나무 갈대에 잉크를 채우는 방식으로 개발이 됐었으며, 중국에서도 첫 번째 펜이 대나무와 모피를 결합하며 만들어진 바 있다. 또한 한자에서 '펜'을 의미하는 '필(筆)' 이라는 문자는 대나무(竹)와 붓을 잡고 있는 손의 모양(聿)이 결합하여 만들어졌다. 펜 태블릿 및 펜 디스플레이 분야의 선두 제조업체인 와콤은 금일 21세기를 위한 펜을 새롭게 발명해냈다. | |

Bamboo unlocks the handwriting features of Microsoft Vista (except Home Basic) and some language versions of Mac OSX. Vista’s powerful handwriting recognition feature can even turn your handwriting into text. The pen becomes a natural extension of your thinking, your personal signature. Put your name to it.

Microsoft Windows Journal included standard for note taking. Bamboo’s bottom left button’s default function is to open Journal. Handwritten notes can be searched as regular typed text. Microsoft OneNote 2007 (also for XP service pack2, download free trial here) is a digital notebook solution that will help you organize all your notes and information including your handwritten notes but also photos, text and audio/video

우리나라는 아직 가격이 정해지지않아서 빠르면 6월초에 와콤 e 스토어를 통해서 온라인,각 대리점을 통해 판매할거라하는데,도통 영업부,마케팅부에서도 바쁜가봅니다.ㅡ,ㅡ 서로 각 부서간 의사소통들이 안되는듯,와콤이 이녀석 뱀부에게 거는 기대가 상당히 큰 전력주모델로 뿌릴듯한데요,디자인이 블랙에 와,마음에 확~거기에 비스타의 프로그램들과 아주 잘 어울리니 괜찮을듯한데,아직 테스트리뷰어의 발표나,진행과정,론칭기념의 머 끼어주기 행사등등 잘모른다하더군요.
빠르면 5월중순지나서 말경쯤 사이에 몬가 나올듯...^^*
